Everyone has their own stories to tell. Some are dark, some are beautiful – and some are both.
— Unexpected Fall
Our Story
The band tells stories from life and fiction. They are often dark, seemingly hopeless, yet a ray of light keeps breaking through the clouds. Unexpected Fall started out in a rehearsal room in 2017; the debut album followed in 2022.
Musically the band sits between post-grunge and alternative rock, with a touch of metal. Catchy melodies meet heavy riffs and driving beats, built around a distinctive voice. Live, the dynamics range from quiet passages to full volume.

Since 2017
Marco has been singing for as long as he has been able to speak. His love of heavier music came later. At 17 he had his first garage band, which never made it to a first gig. Through various projects he eventually met Sascha. Together with Sascha and the two founding members of the original rhythm section, he founded Unexpected Fall in 2017.

Sascha has written the hard riffs and melodic solos since the band was founded in 2017, and happily loses track of time doing it.

Holger has played electric bass since 2005 and taught himself guitar two years later to make songwriting easier. After smaller school bands he joined Mannheim metalcore act "Blutgericht" in 2013 until they went dormant in 2019. In 2020 he was recruited by Braunschweig thrashers "Blessed Child", whom he left as friends when he moved to Switzerland in 2023. In 2024 Marco noticed Holger and brought him into Unexpected Fall — where he still owns the low end.
